In My Mailbox...

In My Mailbox is a nifty meme started by the Story Siren. This week I was gifted with a couple of books in the mail and bought some as well. Thanks to Willam Murrow, imprint of HarperCollins for sending The Thirteen by Susie  Moloney. I thought it was a YA book, but upon closer inspection it's adult--and about witches. I'm not attracted to reading about witches, generally, but I'm curious about this and the cover is creepy.

I bought two books. I've wanted The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff ever since I first heard the author was writing it. I really loved her debut, The Replacement and committed to following her career. She has a dark sensibility, similar to my own--she's just been successful at getting hers published! Lol...I also heard a lot about Legend by Marie Lu and added that to my pile as well. The buzz is that it's an intriguing dystopian and I think it's been optioned for a movie. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Book Two
I finally bought Spells by Aprilynne Pike. It's the second book in the Wings series that I absolutely fell in love with, much to my surprise! She writes great romance and I can't wait to learn what happens to Laurel, David and Tamani (a boy fairy). I think she's written the fourth book and I'm only up to book two! I'm so behind! *sigh*

My dearest friend sent my this cute, old picture book called I Love Cats. It was written in 1983. Of course I love it because... I Love Cats!! Hee...hee...hee....

What did you get to read this week?

  1. Legend is absolutely fabulous and I hope that you love it as much as I did. :) I have also heard absolutely rave things about The Space Between and really need to check that out, too. By the way, not sure I let you know the 'Summer' books got here safe and sound. (I was sick.) Anyway, I hope that you have a fantastic week. Enjoy your new books. :)
