My Selection for Waiting on Wednesday: We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

Book Three
Waiting on Wednesday is the go-to meme to learn all about what's new, good and anticipated to read! It was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This week, I'm trending a tad differently. It's YA, but not paranormal; I'm going contemporary and realistic today. Check out the blurb on the book. It doesn't get more real than this...

Belly has only ever been in love with two boys, both with the last name Fisher. And after being with Jeremiah for the last two years, she's almost positive he is her soul mate. Almost. Conrad has not gotten over the mistake he made when he let Belly go even as Jeremiah has always known that Belly is the girl for him. So when Belly and Jeremiah decide to make things forever, Conrad realizes that it's now or never--tell Belly he loves her, or lose her for good.

Belly will have to confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face a truth she has possibly always known: she will have to break one of their hearts.

The Summer I Turned Pretty: Book One
I just learned this is the third book in the Summer I turned Pretty series. I didn't even know this was a series! I haven't read the first book, but We'll Always Have Summer sounds like it's a stand alone novel. It may be a good idea to start with the first one, so I can be introduced to the characters and be pulled into their world as they grow and change; get pulled into some absorbing'm such a "love" junkie! It's terrible...ha ha ha...Even in the book I'm writing, a great deal of the focus is on the intensity of feelings, the new sensations, the wonder of that first heartbeat toward! I've digressed...hee hee hee...anyhoo, I think I'll be checking this one out. Has anyone else read the first two books in the series? Anyone know the name of the second book?

We'll Always Have Summer releases April 26, 2011.

  1. Oh, you must read the first two books in the Summer Series! They are some of my very favorite contemporary YAs, and I think the third book will mean a lot more to you if you have the knowledge base of the first to books. They're incredibly well written and the boys are adorable.

I'm with you... totally waiting on We'll Always Have Summer.

  2. I have to be honest, I never heard of this series before, but it does leave me intrigued and interested. A protagonist having to choose between two boys = always a win-win situation for readers. Nothing captures my heart more than a love triangle. Excellent choice!

Take a look at my WoW.

  3. Yes yes you must read the first two before reading this one! You will love it much more.

The first is The Summer I Turned Pretty and the second is It's Not Summer Without You. We'll Always Have Summer is SO GOOD. Great WOW pick.

  4. I know a lot of people that love this series, I need to give it a try. Thx for the reminder....hopping by today. Take care!

  5. Huh. I didn't know this was a series either! Good to know. Beautiful cover!

  6. I am going to have to check out this series! Great picks!

    Happy Wednesday!

  7. PLEASE read the first two first. LOL. YOu must to fully grasp the situation and they're such beautifully written, lovely, lovely stories. I think you will got so much more out of it (even though I haven't read three) if you read the first two. YOu will fall for them. I hope you pick up the first two and let me know what you think!

Oh and I'm a total love junkie too!!

  8. I've only begun to hear about this series recently but I've heard good things about it. Great pick!

  9. Sounds interesting but I think the character's name would put me off - Belly?

  10. I've never heard of this book series before. The covers are pretty. I'm trying to read more contemporary. I will add these to my TBR list!

  11. Yeah "Cozy"! The name "Belly" is not too appealing. I'm trying to ignore that!

Thanks everybody for dropping in and helping me out.

Hey Shanyn. Thanks for dropping the name of the second book!

  12. i have not heard of this series. i like the we'll always have summer cover very much!
