Hi guys. These giveaway is only for two days, Friday, April 1 through Saturday, April 2. There are over two hundred blogs for you to hop to and enter to win numerous books and other book related prizes--some may not even be book related. You'll have to hop around and see! We can thank the blogs, I Am A Reader, Not a Writer as well as The Bookish Snob for hosting this fine event.
I'm going to have three winners; a grand prize, a second prize and a third prize. Let's see what they are.
Just this week, the publisher St Martin's Griffin, sent me the hardcover edition of the new release of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Invincible: Chronicles of Nick, the second book in her first young adult series. They also were generous enough to send the paperback edition of the first book in the series that released last Spring: Infinity: Chronicles of Nick. They sent me the hardcover of Infinity last spring as well, so I'll be giving that away too.
Grand Prize: Book Two. Hardcover. |
Grand prize:Book One. Hardcover edition. |
Second Prize: Paperback Edition |
Third Prize: Hardcover |
As a fourteen-year-old who just moved to a new town, with no friends and a louse for an older brother, Doug Swieteck has all the stats stacked against him. So begins a coming-of-age masterwork full of equal parts comedy and tragedy from Newbery Honor winner Gary D. Schmidt. As Doug struggles to be more than the “skinny thug” that his teachers and the police think him to be, he finds an unlikely ally in Lil Spicer—a fiery young lady who “smelled like daisies would smell if they were growing in a big field under a clearing sky after a rain.” In Lil, Doug finds the strength to endure an abusive father, the suspicions of a whole town, and the return of his oldest brother, forever scarred, from Vietnam. Together, they find a safe haven in the local library, inspiration in learning about the plates of John James Audubon’s birds, and a hilarious adventure on a Broadway stage. In this stunning novel, Schmidt expertly weaves multiple themes of loss and recovery in a story teeming with distinctive, unusual characters and invaluable lessons about love, creativity, and survival.
The novel is already getting 4.5 stars on Amazon and it will be our third prize.
So, let's be clear. The grand prize will consist of two books: The hard cover editions of Infinity and Invincible. The second prize will consist of the paperback edition of Infinity and the third prize will be the hardcover edition of the soon-to-be-released Okay For Now. For your chance to win one of the three prize packages, answer two questions: tell me the name of the last paranormal YA book you've read and the name of the last contemporary, realistic YA book you've read. Of course if you haven't read any, that's fine, but you have to tell me that. Don't forget your email, so you can be contacted in case you're one of the winners. That is all.
I'm blog #17. After you leave here, click on one of the blogs in the linky below to check out more giveaways. It's easy and you can keep track of where you've already been if you go in order. Have fun!
Giveaway ends Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12 midnight. It's open to residents of the US and Canada only.

To be honest, I couldn't tell you the last YA Paranomal I read, nor non-para. However, although you didn't ask, I am a huge fan of the Kenyon Dark-Hunter series and love Nick's character. Thanks!

I just read The Body Finder and really really liked it. And the last realistic would be a MG book not a YA book. It was Milo Sticky Notes and Brain Freeze. Loved it!

I honestly have not read any YA paranormal books in so long I really can't even remember their names...unless you count TWILIGHT, b/c I read that series about 3 years ago.
